Netarsudil (Rhopressa) is a rho-kinase inhibitor that increases aqueous outflow. It is used as an ophthalmic solution to reduce intraocular pressure.

- It is indicated to reduce elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma.

Netarsudil (Rhopressa) Dose in the treatment of Elevated intraocular pressure:
- Ophthalmic:
- Instill one drop into the affected eye once a day in the evening.
- Maximum dose: One drop into the affected eye once a day.

- There are no adverse effects for fetuses after ophthalmic treatment.
- To reduce exposure to the foetus, the minimal dose is combined to punctal obstruction. This will reduce systemic exposure.

How to administer Netarsudil (Rhopressa)?
- It is intended for ophthalmic use only. It may be used with other medications to reduce intraocular pressure.
- When used with other eye drops, it should be instilled at an interval of at least five minutes between the medications.
- Avoid touching the tip of the dropper with fingers, other surfaces, eyes, eyelids, or the surrounding areas to minimize contamination of the product.
- Before instilling the drops, remove contact lenses. Wait for at least 15 minutes before reinserting the lenses.
Mechanism of action of Netarsudil (Rhopressa):
- Netarsudil is an inhibitor of Rho-kinase.
- It can reduce intraocular pressure, and increase the flow rate of aqueous humor through trabecular meshwork. It is not known what the drug does.
Metabolism:
- It is converted by esterases in your eye to the active metabolite AR-13503.
